This policy explains what information Volunteer Tree Co. ("we," "us") collects through https://volunteertreeco.com (the "site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We're a local tree service, and we collect only what we need to respond to you and do the work.

Information you give us

When you request an estimate or contact us, you may provide:

• Your name, phone number, and email address
• The town, ZIP code, and street address for the job
• A description of the work and how you'd like us to contact you
• Photos of your trees, stumps, or property

We also keep the emails, calls, and texts you exchange with us.

Photos you send

Photos are used only to look at your job and prepare an estimate. Before upload, your browser usually shrinks each photo, which also removes most embedded details such as the location where it was taken. If a photo can't be shrunk, it's sent as it is. Photos are delivered to us by email with your request. The website doesn't publish them or keep its own copy.

We won't show photos of your property on our website or social media without asking you first, and we never publish a customer's address.

Information collected automatically

When you visit, the site and its host record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the site that sent you. If you arrive from an ad, the ad's tracking details (such as a Google click ID) may be saved with your estimate request so we know which ads work.

Services we use

These companies handle information for us, only as needed to do their part:

• Vercel hosts the website. Like any web host, it processes basic request data such as IP address, browser, and the pages requested.
• Google Workspace runs our business email (hello@volunteertreeco.com), where estimate requests and your emails to us are received and stored.
• Quo runs our business phone line. It handles calls, voicemails, and text messages, and keeps the numbers, times, and content of those conversations, including voicemail recordings and any transcripts or summaries.
• Resend delivers estimate and contact requests (including any photos you attach) to our inbox, and sends you a confirmation email if you give us your address.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that forms are sent by people rather than bots. It looks at technical signals from your browser and device, and sometimes asks you to tick a box.

We also use these tools to understand how the site is used and whether our advertising works:

• Google Analytics measures how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location, device type, and actions like sending a form). It uses cookies.

How we use information

• To respond to your request and prepare an estimate
• To schedule and do the work, send invoices, and follow up
• To contact you the way you asked about your request
• To keep the site working, secure, and free of spam
• To understand how the site is used and whether our advertising works
• To meet legal obligations and protect our rights

Text messages

If you choose text messages as your contact method, you agree to receive texts from Volunteer Tree Co. about your request and related work. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

If you call or text our business number, we may text you back about that conversation, for example after a call we missed. We don't send marketing texts.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services listed above, as needed for them to do their work. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Blocking cookies won't stop you from requesting an estimate or emailing us.

How long we keep information

We keep estimate requests and customer records for as long as they're useful for serving you and as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, then delete them.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information you send us. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send payment card or bank details through the site.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the updated version here and change the date at the top.
